About Us

What We Do

NASCA works with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, actively engaging with their families and communities to ensure our work is community driven and sustainable.

At NASCA we design programs that respond to community need, are flexible, and culturally safe.  We actively work towards collaborating to create whole communities of healthy and prosperous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

We empower Aboriginal young people to:

  • Improve school attendance and ultimately school performance,
  • Develop specific career pathways and work-ready skills,
  • Strengthen cultural pride and Identity;
  • Build life skills, personal development and long-term resilience.

Each year over 1,200 young people directly benefit from our targeted work in one or more of our programs. Our programs are multi-year which not only fosters community trust but also ensures sustained engagement and ongoing positive results.

We run our programs based on the strong assertion that things should be done with, not to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We aim to create environments that foster cultural pride in its many forms and allow young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to gain life-long skills that will enable them to truly follow their dreams.
